Single-screw extrusion and kneading
Compared to a twin-screw extruder, mixing and kneading can be performed in a region with lower shear rates.
Single-screw extruders have a simple structure and generate high extrusion pressure on their own, making them useful not only for molding processes but also for the granulation of powder resins and flake resins, as well as for the production of compounds that mix small amounts of fillers and additives for coloring plastics.
